Terms of Service

1 Account Registration, Identity & Security

• Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your profile data updated at all times.
• Age & Guardian Consent: Users must be at least 18 years of age to register independently. Students under 18 years of age may only enroll and use the portal with the express verifiable consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
• Credential Confidentiality: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, passwords, and two-factor authentication (2FA) recovery codes. Any activity occurring under your account is deemed your legal responsibility.
• Identity Verification: We reserve the right to require identity verification (such as passport, KTP, or student identification) prior to confirming course bookings, issuing official certificates, or disbursing tutor salaries and affiliate earnings.

2 Course Packages, Scheduling & Academic Guidelines

• Package Hours & Validity: Language courses are booked in hourly packages (e.g., 10, 20, 30, or custom package hours). Each package possesses a specified validity period from the date of issuance (standard validity: 6 months for packages up to 30 hours, 12 months for extended packages). Unused hours past the expiration date are non-refundable and forfeited.
• Class Rescheduling & 24-Hour Notice Policy: To reschedule an individual private lesson without penalty, the student must notify the administration or submit a reschedule request via the portal at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class time. Reschedule requests made with less than 24 hours' notice, or student no-shows, will result in the scheduled session hours being deducted in full as attended.
• Group Class Policy: Group courses (including semi-private and corporate cohorts) follow a fixed group timetable. Sessions missed by individual participants in group classes cannot be individually rescheduled or refunded.
• Tutor Reassignment & Substitutions: While we endeavor to maintain consistent instructor assignments, Jembatan Bahasa reserves the right to assign qualified substitute tutors in cases of tutor illness, scheduled leave, or academic scheduling requirements.
• Official Holidays: Classes falling on Indonesian public holidays or Bali cultural observances will be rescheduled by mutual arrangement between the student and academic administration.

3 Lesson Records, Evaluation & Certification

• Lesson Records: Tutors submit lesson summaries, covered learning topics, vocabulary lists, and homework assignments into the portal following each session. Students are encouraged to review these records and submit academic feedback.
• Dispute Period: Any dispute regarding attendance records or session duration must be submitted to administration within 7 calendar days of the session date.
• Course Completion Certificates: Official certificates of completion are issued only when a student fulfills the minimum required attendance threshold (normally 80% or greater) and satisfies the assessment rubric criteria for the enrolled language level.

4 Fees, Billing, Digital Wallets & Refund Policy

• Pricing & Currency: Course fees, digital learning materials, and add-on services are billed in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) unless otherwise specified in an official corporate quotation.
• Payment Terms: Tuition fees and invoices must be settled prior to the commencement of lessons or package activation. Failure to settle invoices by the due date may result in the automatic freezing of scheduled classes.
• Digital Wallet: Portal wallet balances are earmarked for the purchase of course packages, addon services, workshops, or study materials. Wallet credits are non-transferable between unrelated accounts and cannot be cashed out, except where mandated by applicable consumer protection laws.
• Refund Policy:
  • Prior to First Class: A full refund (minus administrative and payment gateway processing fees) is available if requested in writing at least 72 hours before the first scheduled class.
  • After Course Commencement: Once the first lesson has commenced, tuition fees are strictly non-refundable. In cases of certified medical emergencies or unforeseen relocation, the remaining unconsumed balance may, at our sole discretion, be credited as portal balance or transferred to an immediate family member.

5 Affiliate Program & Referral Rules

• Ethical Promotion: Affiliates agree to promote Jembatan Bahasa honestly without misleading claims, spamming, unauthorized advertising, or trademark infringement.
• Self-Referral Prohibition: Affiliates may not earn commissions on their own enrollments or bookings ("self-referral"). Such commissions will be voided.
• Payouts: Affiliate commissions are calculated upon verified paid enrollments attributed via unique referral links. Commissions are disbursed to verified Indonesian bank accounts subject to the minimum payout threshold and applicable tax withholdings.

6 Non-Circumvention & Anti-Poaching Clause

The educational integrity and commercial viability of Jembatan Bahasa depend on the professional relationship between our academy, our instructors, and our students:

• Prohibition of Private Solicitation: Students, corporate clients, and tutors strictly agree not to solicit, offer, arrange, or engage in private language tutoring services directly with one another outside the auspices of Jembatan Bahasa during the course of enrollment and for a period of twelve (12) months following the conclusion of their last class.
• Remedies for Breach: Any attempt to circumvent the academy, divert payments, or poach teaching staff constitutes a material breach of these Terms, resulting in immediate termination of portal access, forfeiture of remaining package credits or honorariums, and potential legal claims for liquidated damages.

7 Intellectual Property Rights

• Proprietary Curriculum: All digital textbooks, lesson guides, grammar taxonomies, custom flashcards, dictionary databases, listening tracks, and rubric assessment frameworks made available through the portal are the exclusive intellectual property of Jembatan Bahasa or its licensors.
• Personal Learning License: Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use learning materials solely for their personal educational purposes.
• Recording Restrictions: Recording of live online or offline classroom sessions (audio or video) is prohibited without the explicit prior written consent of both the instructor and all enrolled participants. Uploading or distributing classroom recordings to social media or public platforms without authorization is strictly prohibited.

8 Acceptable Conduct & Zero-Tolerance Policy

Jembatan Bahasa maintains an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination without refund:

• Any form of harassment, hate speech, bullying, sexual misconduct, or discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
• Disruptive behavior during live lessons, profanity, or inappropriate attire during video sessions.
• Attempting to compromise portal infrastructure, scrape data, transmit malware, or bypass authentication controls.

9 Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

• Educational Results: While our curricula follow certified CEFR and BIPA pedagogies, language acquisition inherently depends on individual learner diligence, study time, and immersion. Jembatan Bahasa does not guarantee specific exam scores, job placements, or visa approvals.
• Third-Party Outages: Jembatan Bahasa is not liable for service interruptions caused by third-party infrastructure failures (including internet service provider outages, Zoom/Google Meet downtime, or electrical failures).
• Liability Cap: To the maximum extent permitted under Indonesian law, the total cumulative liability of Jembatan Bahasa for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or portal use shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the user to Jembatan Bahasa during the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to liability.

10 Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be resolved through good-faith amicable deliberation (*musyawarah*). If unresolved within thirty (30) days, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court of law in the domicile of Jembatan Bahasa (Bali, Republic of Indonesia).

11 Amendments to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms periodically to reflect operational, educational, or regulatory developments. Updated terms will be published on this portal with a revised effective date. Continued access to the portal following the publication of revised terms constitutes your explicit acceptance thereof.
